1000's books for Uganda

Dear Beloved Friends:

I've been invited to Uganda to support their efforts surrounding Dyslexia and Reading, January 21-27, 2017.

Many of your know that I was the catalyst and helped to launch the Multicultural Awareness Initiative with the Yale Center for Dyslexia and Creativity. Since that time I have continued to work to develop and strengthen programs in juvenile detention centers, rural area schools, children's hospitals and library partnerships, and the development of master's programs to teach reading to dyslexic children in urban settings, along advocacy for policy, resources and funding within federal, state and local governments.

As I go to Uganda, I would like to take with me at 1000+ books for children ages 5-12. I will be visiting 4 schools throughout the country. I have already collected 250 books. If you are willing to donate a book or two I'm asking that you would add a personal note in each book. The ages of the children range from 5-12 years old. If you could please have them shipped to me by no later than 6 January 2017, they can then be shipped in advance of my arrival. If you'd prefer to send a gift for us to purchase books on your behalf, please send your tax deductible gift made payable to The Social Justice Institute.

If you have any questions, please contact Sharon White at sharon.white1007@gmail.com

With love and respect,

- Keith
