The History of Women’s Suffrage: Solidarity Across the Atlantic

We explore the international women’s suffrage movement, which saw campaigners from both sides of the Atlantic join forces in the fight for equality. Michelle Duster is the great-granddaughter of Ida B. Wells, the influential American women’s suffrage and anti-lynching advocate who twice travelled to Britain to seek support. Helen Berry is a noted British historian who has worked extensively on the history of gender and sexuality.
